Saturday

Today we went to the market in town. If I was going to compare it to anything in the states, it would be similar to a flea market. We spent about two hours walking around looking at items such as bead jewelry, wood carvings, and fabrics. It is really hard to shop because all the vendors want you to come into their booth. They are always saying "Karibu, come in!" If you look at one item, they literally start packaging it up for you. I didn't even make it through the whole market because it became so overwhelming. When Americans are there the price of everything goes up and you have to negotiate. I am not good at negotiating. So we would figure out what we wanted and then Nickson would go to the vendor and negotiate for us. He got the price down to less than half of what they told us. So of course, Nickson was a hero once again.
